COMMUTER-FOCUSED LED-RIDE: 14TH JULY

Join us on this commuter-focused ride from Greenwich Park to Westminster Bridge and back!

EndedMeet by St Mary's Gate, Greenwich Park (corner of King William Walk / Nevada St)

Service Description

Join us on our free commuter-focused ride from Greenwich Park to Westminster and back! This ride is a repeat of a highly successful first ride along this route but this time we'll be riding the route in reverse! The ride is suitable for adults who can ride with control who wish to discover and practise commuting routes between Greenwich and central London. The ride is also suitable for riders wishing to explore the sights of central London by cycle! The route will take in some of London's newest cycling infrastructure including the C4 and C10 cycle routes. The ride will include some roads with traffic. Our ride leaders will be there to offer support on all sections of the journey. The route will take us from Greenwich Park down to the Thames before joining the new C4 cycle route, which will lead us to the London Bridge area. From there, we'll cross the river Northward using Blackfriars Bridge, before heading along the Embankment to the Houses of Parliament. We'll then cross back over the river at Westminster Bridge, pass the London Eye, and will head back to Greenwich using the C10 cycle route. The ride will depart at 9.45am sharp on Sunday 14th July from St Mary's Gate - the main lower entrance to Greenwich Park (near to the Greenwich Tavern on the corner of King William Walk and Nevada Street). Please arrive at 9.30am so we can start the ride on time! You’ll need to bring your own cycle, which should be in good working order. Remember to wear comfortable clothes that are suitable for the weather. We recommend you bring a snack and something to drink for the ride. This ride is for adults living, working, or studying in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Please complete the sign up form to register for the free ride (you can book a maximum of 3 riders on this ride). Places will be filled on a first come, first served basis. If you don't get a place, email us and we can add you to a mailing list to notify you about future rides. Happy Cycling!

Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION POLICY: If, due to unforeseen circumstances, you need to cancel your attendance on the led-ride, please do so as soon as possible: The rides are funded by the Royal Borough of Greenwich and we want to ensure that the rides are as well-attended as possible. If you are no longer able to attend but you have a friend or family member who would be able to attend in your / the relevant rider's place using your booking, then this will be fine with us so long as they complete the relevant consent form prior to attending the ride. In these cases, you do not need to rebook on the system. If, for any unforeseen circumstances, we are unable to deliver the ride (such as due to your instructor / ride leader being unwell), we will endeavour to notify you as soon as possible. CANCELLATIONS FOR POOR WEATHER: It's very rare that rides need to be cancelled for poor weather. Through riders and coaches dressing appropriately for their sessions, it is expected that rides will still take place in temperamental weather like sporadic or light rain. However, rides may be cancelled in the following situations: - When there is persistent and heavy rain forecast for the ride. - If there are weather warnings such as for high winds / gusts. - Extreme hot or cold weather. - Icy or snowy conditions. We kindly ask that you do everything you can to attend any ride that you've booked with us, and if you have concerns about your ability to attend, then please get in touch with us as soon as you can. Thank you!
