THE HEAD COACH
Meet Barnaby, a full-time National Standards cycling instructor, tutor, and industry-leading consultant for the cycle training sector. He's passionate about the Active Travel agenda and rider-focused programs that give people the support they need to ride. It's his mission to support as many people to cycle as possible!
Barnaby currently balances delivery of cycle training and related projects with development and consultancy work for the wider cycle training industry. He has worked as a tutor, which has involved training up, mentoring and assessing cycling instructors, and he carries out quality assurance and advisory work for cycle training providers.
Barnaby works very closely with the Bikeability Trust. Recent work has included working extensively on the recent redesign of the national cycle training delivery guidance, leading on the design of online training courses, and working for the Trust's own quality assurance team. Barnaby has also recently provided consultancy work for the Department of Transport on behalf of the Trust.
Barnaby has been a member of a number of London cycling clubs and has delivered coaching to many club riders. He is one of London's most experienced Bikeability trainers and has coached hundreds of Londoners to confidently commute to work by bike.
Cycling-related Qualifications:
- Fully qualified National Standards Cycling Instructor and 1st4Sport's Level 3 Tutor / Assessor.
- British Cycling Level 2 Coach.
- Level 3 Award in Education & Training.
- Emergency First Aid at Work.
- Certificate in Child Protection in Sport & Active Leisure.
- DBS – full clearance.
